What it does

A combination lock on the plug
The 3-digit lock sits above the socket and works a catch over the plug’s latch. Close the lock with the plug seated and the plug cannot be lifted out; dial the code to open it again.
IllustrationArms for the coiled cable
Two arms rise from the top of the backplate and hold the coiled charging cable, taking its weight off the plug and keeping it clear of the floor, the driveway and standing water.

Shaped for the J1772 connector
The socket follows the round J1772 connector and the notch for its latch, so the plug slides in the way it goes into a car. The connector end is standardized, so it takes the plug of any charger with a J1772 connector.

Screws for most walls
Five screws and five wall anchors come in the box, with a small pin tool. Fix it into a stud, into drywall with the anchors, or into brick and concrete after drilling.
Overview
A charger in a driveway, a carport or a shared garage can be used by anyone who walks up to it. This holster gives the J1772 plug a socket on the wall and a combination lock above it: with the lock closed, the plug stays in the holster until someone dials the code.
The backplate carries two raised arms that hold the coiled cable, so the cable is off the ground as well. It mounts with the five screws and anchors supplied, next to the charger in a garage or under cover outside.
Compatibility
- J1772
Fits the SAE J1772 plug on Level 2 wall chargers and portable chargers. It does not fit NACS (Tesla) plugs.
- It locks the plug, not the charger. If your charger’s app can require authorization before charging, use both.
In the box

- 5 wall anchors
- Pin tool

Questions about this product
Does it stop someone charging from my charger?
Yes, while it is locked. The plug is held in the holster, so nobody can take it out and plug in a car without the code. It does not switch the charger off, so check whether your charger’s app can also require authorization.
How do I set the combination?
The code is set while the lock is open, following the instructions in the box. Write the new code down before you close the lock for the first time.
Will it fit my charger’s plug?
If your charger has a J1772 plug, yes: the connector end is the same shape whichever company made the charger. It does not fit the slimmer NACS plug of a Tesla Wall Connector.
Can it go on an outside wall?
Yes. Mount it under the charger or an eave where rain does not run straight into the socket and the lock, and keep the dial clear of mud and ice.
What if I forget the code?
Contact us with your order number before cutting or prying anything. Keep the code written down somewhere other than the garage.
