Before you use it
Take the cover off before you unplug and drive away. It is made for a parked car that is charging, not a moving one.
What it does
Magnetic strips
Two magnetic strips in the cover hold it to the panel beside the port, so it stays put in wind. They work on steel only: check the panel next to your port with a fridge magnet before ordering.

Pull the drawstring at the bottom to close the cover around the charging cable. Snow and wind-driven rain stay out, and the cover cannot blow up and off the plug.
A reflective lining
A silver lining inside the fabric reflects sunlight, so a plug left charging in an open lot on a hot day sits in the shade of the cover.
Overview
Snow packed around a plug, rain running down the cable and hot sun on the handle all reach the one connection that matters while a car charges outside. This cover goes over the whole area after you plug in: magnetic strips hold it to the body panel, and a drawstring gathers the bottom around the cable.
The outside is black fabric and the inside has a silver reflective lining. It is 16.5 inches tall and widens from 8.7 inches at the top to 17.7 inches at the bottom, which covers the port door and the handle of common plugs.

Works with any plug, on a car whose body panel beside the charge port is steel.
- The magnets do not hold on aluminum or plastic panels. Test with a fridge magnet on the panel beside your port first.

Questions about this product
When do I put it on?
After you plug in. It covers the plug and the port for the length of the charge, and comes off before you unplug and drive.
Will it hold on my car?
It holds wherever a magnet sticks to the panel beside the charge port. That depends on the panel, not the brand of car: some EVs use aluminum or plastic there. Test with a fridge magnet before ordering.
Can I use it in snow?
Yes, that is what the drawstring is for. Brush snow off the panel first so the magnets sit against the paint, then close the drawstring around the cable.
How is it different from the clear rain cover?
The clear cover is a light sheet for rain that lets you see the charging light. This one is fabric with a drawstring and a reflective lining, which suits snow, wind and strong sun.
